The wooden bell tower was built in 1763. It is the work of carpenters Jakab Fellner and József Eder, and it still stands in its original location on Országgyülés Square. The special feature of the building, also called the Watchtower, is that its wooden frame was built without iron corners. A plaque on the wall commemorates the national assembly that was once held in Tatá. Since August 2004, it has been ringing its bell every hour to mark the passing of time. It is one of the symbols of the city.
